PERFORM-KUH brings together a Philadelphia-wide consortium of universities, hospitals, and research institutes. Together, these institutions provide a large and diverse pool of mentors, trainees, research environments, cores, seminars, coursework, clinical training settings, and professional development resources.
Penn is the primary administrative site for PERFORM-KUH and provides a major research and training environment for kidney, urology, and hematology science. Penn faculty contribute broad expertise in basic science, clinical epidemiology, translational research, health policy, bioengineering, data science, and related fields. Penn also provides access to graduate and master’s degree programs, professional development infrastructure, research cores, and the Perelman School of Medicine training environment.

CHOP contributes pediatric research and clinical training environments across kidney, benign urology, and benign hematology. CHOP faculty have longstanding collaborative relationships with Penn, and CHOP faculty members often hold academic appointments through Penn. CHOP provides strong pediatric nephrology, urology, and hematology training environments, including the CHOP Pediatric Center of Excellence in Nephrology and pediatric urology research programs.
